Below is information about this unique computer art masterpiece:
-H. Philip Peterson of Control Data Corporation (CDC) utilized a CDC 3200 computer and a "flying-spot" scanner to create a digital transposition/representation of the famous Mona Lisa in 1964. The production process took 14 hours to complete the image which contained 100,000 pixels that were plotted using numerals, sometimes overprinted, to approximate the required density.
-It is printed on sepiatone paper and the medium used was india ink.
-A first of it's kind scanning process drove the production of the image.
-Mr. Peterson claimed that the one idea to utilize
the digital
transposition process he developed was for advertising. He also created one of
Bart Starr (quarterback for the Green Bay Packers), Norbert Weiner (MIT
professor, coined the term "cybernetics") and William Charles Norris (Founder of Control Data Corporation).
