Ted Nelson, an early computer pioneer, coined the phrase/concept of "hypertext". His early computer book "Computer Lib/Dream Machines" outlined a vision for the future of technology and networks. He devoted a section in that book to discussing image processing, and highlighted the Digial Mona Lisa in it.
